At New Balance, we feel it is our responsibility as a member of the community to support effective charitable organizations that perform humanitarian services for the betterment of our children and our society
Corporate Charitable Contributions: Through the New Balance Corporate Giving program, we support organizations that emphasize local outreach efforts, the involvement of the community, and children’s initiatives that benefit the communities in which our associates live and work. As with our other endeavors, New Balance focuses its funding on programs that relate to our strategic direction and reflect our Core Values of Integrity, Teamwork, and Total Customer Satisfaction. In 2006, $2.5 million was contributed to non-profits through the corporate giving program.
Additionally, The New Balance Foundation, operated separately, is responsible for the majority of our grant making.
In-Kind: New Balance directs excess inventory to non-profits including shelters, schools and community centers whose clients are in dire need of decent footwear and apparel. In many cases such products are essential to rebuilding lives, and we are pleased to be in a position to make a difference.
Disaster Relief: While the majority of giving is directed at our local communities, New Balance and our associates respond to major tragedies around the globe. New Balance has donated millions of dollars in cash and product to various relief and rebuilding efforts.
